Four arrested with loaded pistol in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Aug 13: In a significant breakthrough, local police have apprehended four individuals, including two well-known criminals, during a vehicle-checking operation in Bistupur. The detained suspects have been identified as Mohammed Fayaz (19), Sajid Sheikh (21), Rajan Kumar (29), and Vikash Mane.

Law enforcement officials discovered a loaded pistol, two gold chains, and a motorcycle in their possession at the time of arrest. The successful operation was executed under the guidance of Senior SP Prabhat Kumar, following orders from SP (Rural) Mukesh Lunayat.

According to Mukesh Lunayat, during the vehicle-checking operation near G-Town Club in Bistupur on Saturday night, two individuals on a motorcycle attempted to evade the checkpoint. However, they were apprehended about half a kilometer away near Kharkai bridge. A loaded pistol was found in the possession of one of the individuals, later identified as Mohammed Fayaz. Subsequent questioning confirmed that Fayaz and Sajid Sheikh were responsible for gunpoint chain-snatching incidents.

Lunayat elaborated on their criminal history, noting that the duo, who are Mango residents, had previous convictions and had been incarcerated multiple times.

Further investigation revealed that the two suspects had carried out chain-snatching incidents on August 5, 2023, and August 8, 2023, in Jugsalai and Baradwari areas. The stolen gold chains were subsequently sold to separate jewellers in Mango and Sonari. Both jewellers were apprehended, and the stolen gold chains were successfully recovered from their shops.

The successful operation highlights the dedication and determination of the police force to maintain law and order in the area.
