Seraikela, Nov. 10: Four accused of shooting 30-year-old youth Pradeep Bhagat was at Jagriti Maidan under RIT police station area have been arrested.
A resident of Raidih Bustee in RIT police station area, Bhagat was passing through the Jagriti Maidan, when a gang of six assailants attacked him.
But when he sensed that there was something wrong there, he started running toward his house, the six chased him and fired a shot, which hit Bhagat’s right hand.
As Bhagat fell on the ground and some people from the neighbourhood came out of their houses close to Jagriti Maidan, the assailants fled the scene.
The local residents had subsequently rushed the injured to Tata Main Hospital emergency for treatment. Sources informed that Bhagat had come to RIT police station for lodging a complaint against Deepak Rajak and three others for allegedly assaulting his nephew Mukhi Bhagat in sequel to a clash over playing cricket at Jagriti Maidan.
Sources said Bhagat who used to carry out a business of land sale and purchase in Adityapur was in the police station for over an hour and after lodging the complaint he was returning home from the police station, when he was attacked by those who had also assaulted the victim’s nephew.
