Tata Sons Chairman switches on light display inside Jubilee Park
Jamshedpur, March 2: The 185th birth anniversary of Tata group founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata started with inauguration of illumination of Jubilee Park on Saturday, March 2.

On the eve of Founder’s Day, the illumination was inaugurated by Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran in the presence of TV Narendran, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Steel and senior officials of the company.

He along with other dignitaries also paid homage to the Founder.

Jubilee Park was transformed into a paradise of lights, colors, and festivities. The grand illumination marked a momentous occasion for the city, resonating with the spirit of celebration.

The spectacle unfolded as part of the city’s tribute to its founder, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, with the park radiantly adorned in vibrant hues.

Residents and visitors alike were treated to a visual extravaganza as the Jubilee Park sparkled with dazzling lights and artistic displays.

Illumination inside the Jubilee Park includes tree wrapped with LED lights, coloured decorative lights on plants and shrubs and decorative shapes on Street light poles.

This year’s theme of Founder’s Day is ‘Technology for People and Planet’.

Chanakya Choudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, Rituraj Sinha, MD, Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited were also present.

The lightings will remain in place from March 3-5 inside Jubilee Park.
Spectators can enjoy the illuminated scenery from 5 pm to 10 pm.

Additionally, from 10 pm to 11.30 pm, the captivating lighting can be experienced through vehicles, providing a unique viewing opportunity for visitors. Laser Show will be operational from March 3-5 at Jubilee Park.

Along with Jubilee Park seven other parks including Dorabji Tata Park, Postal Park, Birsa Munda Park, Bhatia Park, Nildih Park, Ramnagar Park and New Baridih Park (Pandey Maidan) have alos been illuminated.
Apart from Jubilee Park, this year elaborate lighting has been done in over 50 significant sites across Jamshedpur, including heritage buildings, places of worship, and roundabouts.
The use of colorful lights as a key part of the celebrations will be a welcome reminder to citizens and visitors on the beauty of the city.

Every year, Tata Steel along with other Tata group companies celebrate the birth anniversary of the Founder and his vision of an industrial future with community welfare at its core. J N Tata had begun his entrepreneurial journey with a textile mill in central India in the 1870s. His vision inspired the steel and power industry in India, set the foundation for technical education, and helped the country leapfrog to join the ranks of industrialised nations.

Founder’s Day Sports
Like previous years, Tata Steel will have the preliminary sports events at JRD Tata Sports Complex on March 2, which will be participated by employees of various locations. The sporting events will include relay race, shot-put throw, corporate relay and sporting activities for transpersons and senior citizens among others.
Final set of sporting events will take place on March 3 afternoon at Gopal Maidan. The venue being in the centre of the city, most of the citizens and members of the community can witness and experience the events. Presence of the senior leadership and top office bearers of Tata Workers’ Union will add colour to the event.
