Founder’s Day celebration in R P Patel Cheshire Home

Jamshedpur, Sept 8: Captain Leonard Cheshire who was born on September 7 founded homes for differently abled children and elders worldwide to provide love and care to these special children of God. He died on July 31, 1992 but left his humanitarian imprint in the hearts of world citizens.

Captain Cheshire�s birth anniversary was celebrated at the RP Patel Cheshire Home in Sundernagar today with the same enthusiasm but sans the usual fanfare in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

ISWP Senior Administrative Officer Awtar Singh who was the chief guest on the occasion garlanded the photograph of Capt Leonard Cheshire and lighted the traditional lamp along with Cheshire Home committee member Dr Jaya Moitra. Sister Superior Philomina offered floral tributes.

Specially Abled girls of the Home presented two group dances and a skit themed on Swachh Bharat. Sisters Usha, Jacinta, Smita, Sarita, Sukanti, Mitali along with the residents of the Cheshire Home cut the Cake. The programme ended with a prayer for universal peace and mental and physical health of all.
