Jamshedpur: A long-standing demand of the residents of Asanbani under Potka block was finally fulfilled as Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar laid the foundation stone for a new health sub-center on Wednesday. The occasion marked a significant milestone in strengthening rural healthcare infrastructure and ensuring accessible medical services for thousands of villagers in the region.
The health sub-center, once operational, is expected to evolve into a major healthcare facility catering to the needs of several surrounding panchayats. For years, villagers had been forced to travel long distances for basic medical treatment, often facing hardships in emergencies. The new facility aims to end that struggle.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Sanjib Sardar said, “Public convenience, safety, and a healthy life are our priorities. Keeping these values in mind, the foundation stone for this health center has been laid today. Our goal is to ensure that no one in the area has to travel far for treatment.” He added that the upcoming center would be equipped with quality doctors, modern medical tools, and round-the-clock services.
Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to grassroots development, Sardar said, “Chief Minister Hemant Soren is committed to the development of villages. Under his leadership, our government is continuously strengthening rural health services. The Chief Minister has pledged to develop villages, and today its implementation is clearly visible.”
The event witnessed the presence of several local representatives, including JMM Potka Block Committee President Sudhir Soren, District Councilor Hiranmay Das, Mukhiya Anita Sardar, Bhubaneshwar Sardar, Hitesh Bhagat, Chakradhar Mahato, and Bhupati Mahato. A large number of villagers also attended, expressing gratitude for the fulfillment of this long-awaited demand.
