Jamshedpur: The much-awaited water supply project of Namda Basti was inaugurated on Thursday. District BJP leaders and Jusco officials were present on this occasion.
Addressing the gathering, district BJP president Dinesh Kumar said the completion of the said project would ensure supply of clean drinking water to the 876 households of Golmuri. The state government has kept its promise by starting work on the said project, he said.
Kumar said Chief Minister Raghubar Das had taken the initiative to ensure implementation of the water supply project in Namda Basti in a bid to provide basic amenities to the residents.
The BJP president said the BJP had bridged the gap between company and non-company areas. Now even non-company areas have basic civic amenities which were earlier only found in company areas, he said.
Kumar said the main pipeline would be 1.5 km long while the branch lines would be 4.5 km long. The project is expected to get completed in eight months, he said.
Other dignitaries present during the programme included Jagendra Kumar of Jusco, Chief Minister�s representative Pawan Agrawal, Sanjeev Singh, Probir Chatterjee Rana, Bunty Agrawal, Narendra Ojha, Ashok Sharma, and Ranjeet Singh.
