Jamshedpur, May 25: Former Ranji cricketer Jeetu Patel and Sunil Singh, former secretary of Ranji district cricket association, have accused the Jharkhand state cricket association (JSCA) officials of holding the election in an unconstitutional manner.

JSCA election is scheduled for May 28 in Ranchi, which will elect the office bearers for the term 2016-2020. Raising questions, Sunil Singh said announcing election and annual general meeting without holding the management committee meeting is violation of the constitution.

Accusing electoral officer Amrendra Kumar Singh, Sunil Singh said in the notification it has been stated that for taking the nomination papers one must be present physically and has to inform about the post, but why this rule was not implemented on the ruling side.

He further said that BCA is an old association built in the year 1935 and it has been 81 years since its formation and the current committee is holding office since the year 2000 and it has been 16 years and if the amendments in the constitution would have been made before the year 2000 would this committee be in office, asked Sunil.

“The ruling side members for their own convenience and to keep themselves safe made several amendments in the constitution and didn’t even bother to inform the registration department,” said Sunil Singh, adding, “The truth is that there is lot of anguish among the members of the association against the unopposed elected officials.”

He further informed, ‘This is a first association of the country where election for the parent body is held every four years while the tenure of representatives of schools and cubs have been made for five years and notably the term of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) is of three years’.

Former secretary of Ranji District Cricket Association alleged that Aseem Singh and Sanjay Singh (Hazaribagh) took the nomination papers to fight against Rajesh Verma, but after the internal agreement both the candidates ran away from contesting the polls.

The most important matter is of taking money and providing space to the players from outside in the district association teams. All of these are happening in front of JSCA president Amitabh Choudhary, but he has kept his eyes shut. Sunil SIngh and Jeetu Patel demanded fair probe in the swindle ongoing in the JSCA.

Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) will elect its new office bearers and members of the management committee for the 2016-20 session on May 28 at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. The election will be held between 9 am to 12.30 pm and counting of votes will start from 2 pm on the same day. Results will be declared after votes are counted.
