Former MLA Amulyo Sardar passes away

Jamshedpur, March 2: Former MLA of Potka and senior JMM leader Amulyo Sardar died of cardiac arrest at his residence in Harina village under Potka block of East Singhbhum late yesterday night, party sources said here on Thursday. He was 56.

Sardar represented Potka Assembly constituency from the year 2005 to 2010.

JMM vice president and Seraikela MLA Champai Soren visited Sardar�s residence to pay homage to his former party colleague. He remembered Sardar as a politician who played a major role in the statehood movement of Jharkhand. He said Sardar�s death was an irreparable loss to the party as he was instrumental in increasing JMM�s base in rural pockets of East Singhbhum district.

�I have worked with Amulyo da for many years. He was dedicated to the cause of the tribal people and the party. He was a leader of grass-root level having a firm grip in his area. People and party members loved him alike,� said Soren.

Many party leaders condoled Sardar�s demise and paid tributes to him at his native place. They said the party had lost a dedicated leader of the masses.
