Former DBMS student Shruti Kanwar takes TV world by storm

Jamshedpur, June 27 : Shruti Kanwar, who played the role of Ovi, daughter of Archana (Ankita Lokhande) and Manav (HitenTejwani) in television serial Pavitra Rishta,  has taken the television world with storm with her acting calibre.

Born and brought up in Jamshedpur, Shruti  did her schooling from DBMS English School.After finishing her boards, in her zeal to take acting as her career, she pursued a three month fulltime acting course from Institute of Creative Excellence ( ICE) after reaching Mumbai.

“I have always wanted to be an actress. After completing my education in Jamshedpur, I left for Mumbai. I always used to tell my father that I want to go to Mumbai and become an actress. After I completed my course, I was lucky to be selected by EktaKapoor to play a pivotal character in PavitraRishta. After auditioning for Ovi, I got selected to play the role. My entire life changed after that.Even today I am known for my role in PavitraRishta,” said Shruti, who was in city to inaugurate Jamshedpur centreof ICE.

Shrutihas played role of Aarti in Crime Patrol on Sony TV. The young actress also acted in Yeh Hai Aashiqui, DoliArmano Ki and Savitri Devi College & Hospital.

When questioned about role her hometown played in her career, she said: “ I owe my success to my parents who always supported me. I think we have that initial training on how to carry ourselves, how to speak, and how to handle the media glare- this entire works to our advantage. The journey is tough and challenging and it’s just beginning. But I am enjoying myself very much.”

She further added that there is host of hidden talent among girls of small towns but the need is that they must get right platform to display her talent.

“I think there is something in the soil of our city that talent is nurtured to achieve greater height. Though I am based in Mumbai now but I still look forward to visit my birthplace,” said Shruti.

Talking about his new ventures she said: “I have offers and very recently I completed a mock shoot of a serial which has been sent for approval to a channel. As of now, career is on my mind. My ambition is to bag good roles in a television serial in the next five years.”
