Ranchi, Aug. 12: Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma said that protecting and maintaining a pollution free environment is everybody’s responsibility.
She said that forest and environment give us everything; hence we should protect them to coordinate with the changing climate. She said it while addressing people in Van Mahotsav program conducted by CISF in collaboration with Forest Department in CISF premises at Tiril.
The CS said that we should try to understand the climatic change which hints that our life is dependent on trees. She said that our lives are connected with the environment. Addressing school children, she inspired them to be alert and responsible citizen. She added that 2.5 cr trees have been planted in one month.
Initiating the program Principal Secretary, Forest Sukhdeo Singh said that Van Mahotsav was started on 28th June and 90% of the 2.5 cr seedlings are to be expected to survive owing to good monsoon.
The CISF I.G. Anil Kumar said that the force has targeted to plant 6,000 seedlings which will be added with additional 5,000 every year.
