Jamshedpur, July 2: The Makdumpur area in Parsudih, East Singhbhum district, is facing an increasingly dire situation due to continuous rainfall and the blockage of the main railway drain. The entire area has been submerged, resulting in a flood-like scenario. More than fifty houses have been affected by the rising water levels, particularly in Mahtopara and other areas of Makdumpur.
Responding to the crisis, Kunal Sharangi, the founder and former MLA of the Namya Smile Foundation, a local social organization, visited the flood-affected areas of Makdumpur on Sunday. He personally interacted with the affected residents, assessing their problems and the overall flood situation. The Namya Smile Foundation promptly set up a relief camp in the flood-affected Mahato Pada area and distributed prepared meals to those in need. Kunal Sharangi, along with the organization’s members, personally served food to the people.
Additionally, Kunal Sharangi contacted the Secretary of the State Disaster Management Department, apprising him of the difficulties caused by the floods. He urged the department to expedite the provision of appropriate compensation to the affected families as per government guidelines. Kunal stated that the organization would continue providing food to the flood-affected people in the coming days and advised everyone to remain cautious.
Numerous social workers, including Bimal Baitha, Akash Srivastava, Ritika Srivastava, Nidhi Kedia, Sumit Srivastava, Sunny Sinha, Satpreet Singh, Dhaval Seth, K Surya Rao, Purnendu Acharya, Jeetu Kumar, and other members of the Namya Smile Foundation, joined Kunal Sharangi in his relief efforts. Local residents also participated in the distribution of aid.
As the flood situation persists, Kunal Shadangi’s timely intervention and the collective efforts of the Namya Smile Foundation aim to alleviate the suffering of the flood-affected community.
