Five Jharkhand Players Selected for East Zone Team; Jamshedpur’s Ashwani Named Vice-Captain

Jamshedpur, October 23: Five women cricketers from Jharkhand have been selected for the East Zone team that will compete in the upcoming BCCI Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal T20 Trophy, to be held in Nagaland from November 4 to 14.

Jamshedpur’s Ashwani Kumari has been appointed vice-captain of the East Zone side, marking a proud moment for the city. Along with her, Jharkhand players Priyanka Luthra, Rashmi Gudiya, Aarti Kumari, and Mamta Paswan have also found a place in the squad.

The team was finalized following a meeting of the East Zone Selection Committee held at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by JSCA Secretary and East Zone Selection Committee convener Saurabh Tiwary.

The East Zone team will be led by Mita Paul as captain. Other members include Dhara Gujjar, Tanusree Sarkar, Jintimani Kalita, Rashmi Dey, Tanmayee Behera, Sushree Dibyadarshini, Titus Sadhu, Saika Ishaque, and Priyanka Acharya.

The support staff comprises head coach Prabal Dutta, assistant coach Seema Singh, physio Pooja Dutta, trainer Sapna Chaudhary, analyst Md S. Jamal, masseur Tagarika, and manager Kavita Rai.
