Jamshedpur: Five girls were given the benefits of Mukhya Mantri Kanyadaan Yojana on Tuesday, courtesy district Bharatiya Janata Party.
BJP sources said the parents of the five girls were unable to arrange the marriage ceremony of their daughters. When the girls� family members approached the BJP district president Dinesh Kumar, it was decided to give them the benefits of Mukhya Mantri Kanyadaan Yojana.
According to the BJP president, each of the girl had been given Rs 30,000 through direct transfer to their bank accounts. The main objective of the Kanyadaan scheme is to help poor girls get married, he said.
Those who benefitted from the scheme are Moni Kumari of Burmamines, Payal Kumari of Golmuri, Puja Yadav of Golmuri, Gunja Kumari of Bistupur and Rati Kumari of Birsanagar.
