Jamshedpur: District Congress committee leaders here on Monday decided to put up a demonstration before the office of the deputy commissioner (DC) of East Singhbhum, Amit Kumar, tomorrow to protest alleged misbehavior shown by the local police officials at the residence of Firoz Khan, a local Congress leader.
They visited Khans residence and talked to his wife Zeba Khan who accused cops of misbehaving with her in the name of conducting search. Zeba said the police officials barged into her house late yesterday night and behaved in an inappropriate manner. She said it was not a stray incident. Rather, such incidents keep happening with women, she said.
Many Youth Congress leaders visited Zeba Khans house and expressed solidarity with her family. Firoz Khan is at present absconding in a case lodged against him with the local police station. He was accused of inciting a mob under the banner of Muslim Ekta Manch and causing rampage on the roads at Mango several weeks ago.
Among those present on the occasion included Baldev Singh, Parvinder Singh, Nalini Sinha, Usha Yadav, Rakesh Sahu and Aruna Mukhi.
