Firing Incident in Ranchi Amidst PM’s Visit

Ranchi: As security measures were heightened for the Prime Minister’s visit to Ranchi and Khunti, a startling incident unfolded near Singh Mod in the Jagarnathpur police station area. Criminals targeted a Scorpio vehicle, engaging in vandalism and gunfire. Swift police action led to the detention of three youths involved in the incident, who are currently undergoing interrogation.

The disturbance originated late on Tuesday evening when a dispute arose over defecation in the vicinity of a religious site in Hesag, Jagannathpur police station area. Five assailants, riding Scorpios, resorted to firing upon villagers who resisted the act. Enraged locals retaliated by pelting stones at the miscreants, capturing three of them and subjecting them to severe beatings. Upon receiving information about the incident, Jagannathpur police promptly arrived at the scene, where the villagers handed over the accused youth. The police also recovered a pistol from the detained individuals.

Among the arrested is Sumit Oraon, alias Launder, who is implicated in multiple murder cases. The police are actively investigating the ongoing dispute related to drinking, eating, and defecating in the vicinity of a religious site. The accused individuals are currently being questioned by the police to ascertain further details surrounding the incident.
