Jamshedpur, March 13: A massive fire erupted in the warehouse of the electricity department at Karandih in the Parsudih police station area on Wednesday morning, causing panic in the vicinity. The intensity of the blaze was such that thick smoke billowed from the site, visible from a considerable distance.

Upon discovering the fire, employees of the electricity department made initial attempts to douse the flames. However, realizing the magnitude of the blaze, they promptly alerted local authorities and the fire department who rushed to the spot. The firefighters exercised extreme caution, particularly due to the presence of transformers nearby, which posed a potential explosion hazard if engulfed in flames. Despite the challenging circumstances, the fire was brought under control.

It was speculated that the fire may have been triggered by a short circuit in the cable infrastructure. Senior officials of the electricity department have been notified of the incident, with orders issued for a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

As of now, the fire has been completely contained.
