
Jamshedpur, Nov. 5: Final phase of Jharkhand�s popular community football tournament �Tata Kolhan Super League� (formerly Tata Group Community Football Tournament) kicked off at Gorgora Ground on Tuesday morning. Jamshedpur FC CEO Mukul Chaudhari along with Tata Football Academy (TFA) Head Coach Carlos Santamarina, were the chief guests at the launch of the final phase.

The Jamshedpur FC club officials were thrilled to witness as large an outcome as 27,000 young football aspirants at the event.

�I think these kids now see a light at the end of the tunnel with Jamshedpur FC being in existence for the last three years. They have an incentive and a platform to work for and someday I am sure we will see the future of Indian football here at JFC,� said Mukul Choudhari, CEO, Jamshedpur FC.

�It is amazing to see more than 27,000 kids coming together to play football and follow their passion. Today we have Farukh (Choudhary) and Subrata (Paul) in the (Jamshedpur FC) first team, tomorrow we will have some of these boys playing for India. This is the future of football in India,” said Carlos Santamarina, Head Coach, Tata Football Academy.
The tournament has drawn 27,000 players representing teams from the hinterland, with matches already played across the length and breadth of Kolhan region. This tournament, aimed at nurturing budding footballers from the hinterland, is being organised by Tata Steel since 2011.
