Jamshedpur, Sept 22: An inter school event, ‘Kaleidoscope 2K23’ was organized for students between Standards 1 and 5 at Loyola School’s Fasy Auditorium on Friday, September 22, themed on ‘INNOVATE – Towards a Better Tomorrow.’
A host of varied entertaining and informative events were organized on the occasion and each presentation had the imprint of the theme, ‘INNOVATE.’ The spirit of clean, wholesome competition prevailed and the audience comprising students and teachers of the participating schools lavished the performances with whole-hearted applause.
The proceedings commenced with a theme song presented by the Loyola school choir and was followed by a prayer and welcome address by Rector, Fr KM Joseph. More than 250 students from nine participating schools added to the excitement of this programme loaded with information, skills and entertainment packed into seven competitive events.
Among the events were a fancy dress competition, GADGET GURU for students of Stds 1 and 2; SWITCH, (for Stds 3 and 4) an exhibition of western music choreographed in Indian classical dance; ART WITH A HEART (Std 5), saw the use of graffiti art to find solutions to modern day problems; MECHANO (Stds 4 and 5) featuring models and gadgets made with eco-friendly material; ‘THE INNOVATE QUIZ’ (Std 4 and 5); FANCY DRESS with models using dress material made of recycled cloth and discarded material; HARD SELL (Stds 4 and 5) featuring marketing strategies and jingles to sell imaginary products.
The concluding programme saw the felicitation of chief guest, Vicar General Fr Alwen CV. Loyola School Principal, Fr Vinod Fernandes congratulating all participants, observed, “You have exhibited that the spirit of competition creates a clean environment for picking up the good things of life and sharing them to take life towards a better tomorrow.”
The award winning teams included Carmel Junior College (Overall Championship Trophy), DBMS English School (First Runner Up) and Narbheram Hansraj English School (Second Runner Up). The Chief Guest gave away the prizes. The Vice Principal of the Junior Section, Vineeta F Ekka, delivered the vote of thanks.
