Father shoots daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter over love marriage disapproval

Bhagalpur: A sense of shock and horror has gripped Navtolia village in the Gopalpur police station area of Bhagalpur, Bihar, as criminals brutally shot dead a couple and their two-year-old daughter. The victims have been identified as Chandan Kumar, his wife Chandni Kumari, and their two-year-old daughter Roshni Kumari. The triple murder has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the escalating fearlessness of criminals in the region.

The tragic incident unfolded after Chandan and Chandni, who had a love marriage in 2021 against the wishes of their respective families, faced disapproval from the girl’s family. The tension escalated on Tuesday evening when Chandni’s father, enraged by the love marriage, attacked the couple with an iron rod. Subsequently, Chandni’s brother intervened and used a gun to fatally shoot his sister, brother-in-law, and niece.
