Patna: In a significant move, KK Pathak, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department in Bihar, has imposed a ban on the salaries of District Program Officers (DPOs) in 34 districts, including Patna. This stern action was taken late on Tuesday night, accusing the DPOs of negligence in their duties.
The Education Department’s decision comes in response to allegations that the DPOs failed to procure plates for the mid-day meal program despite having the necessary funds. The order to withhold salaries was issued by MDM (Mid-Day Meal) Director Mithilesh Mishra, acting on the directives of Additional Chief Secretary KK Pathak.
The Education Department has emphasized that salaries will not be disbursed to the implicated DPOs until they comply with the directives given. KK Pathak, known for his assertive approach in addressing issues related to education and administration, continues to make headlines for his stringent actions against individuals found negligent in their responsibilities. This latest move underscores the department’s commitment to accountability and efficient management in the education system.
