Jamshedpur: The shocking news of all Ghazal lovers� heartthrob, T Babu Rao�s passing away in Kolkata in the early hours today evoked a pall of gloom not only in his city of Jamshedpur or the north east but across the country where his renditions through his mellifluous voice captivated connoisseurs and general music lovers of all rank and file.
The Ghazal maestro had gone to Kolkata to perform in a prestigious event. Today at around 3:30 am Babu Rao suddenly fell ill and was rushed to the hospital where he breathed his last. According to the doctor attending on him, the famed singer suffered a severe heart attack.
T Babu Rao was a resident of Sakchi Gurudwara Basti. His rendition of Ghazals made him a crowd puller. His vocal nuances evoked the feelings from odes to love or the pains and pangs of lovelorn hearts and the captivated audience smiled and cried with his immaculate renditions of sentiments and emotions. The singer�s last rites will be performed on Thursday, March 21. Babu Rao�s body is expected to reach the city late night today. His family members and relatives will arrive on Wednesday. Sad and anxious well wishers, avid fans and friends have been dropping in at his residence to offer their condolence for the Swar Samrat, the title given him by his uncountable fans from across the country.
