Jamshedpur, Sept 20: Sudden weather changes in Jamshedpur on Saturday caused a major disruption when a large tree fell in the middle of the busy Kalimati Road near the landmark ‘Howrah Bridge’ in Sakchi .
The fallen tree completely blocked one side of the road, leading to long queues of vehicles on the other side and leaving commuters stranded in traffic for hours.

According to local residents, the spell of heavy showers in the afternoon had weakened the tree’s roots.
Several motorists narrowly escaped as the tree toppled, though thankfully, no casualties have been reported.

However, a few vehicles suffered damages. Commuters had to look for alternate routes due to the blockage.
Sakchi police quickly arrived at the spot to manage traffic, while teams from the local civic body and fire department were called to assist.

The local administration began cutting and clearing the tree, and after nearly five hours, the road was cleared and traffic became normal.
