Extortion case: Jamshedpur police arrest three youths with loaded pistols in Telco

Jamshedpur, Jan 23: The police on Saturday arrested three youths with two loaded pistols from near Bhubaneswari temple under Telco police station area, thus cracking a case of extortion registered with the Telco thana on Thursday night. Those arrested were identified as Gurdayal Singh alias Raja (24), Sanjay Kumar (26) and Shiva Shantra (20), all residents of different localities in the Telco area.

Senior SP, M Tamil Vanan said that on Thursday night, five armed persons had entered the office of one Sukhvinder Singh at Jemco under Telco police station and threatened him.  Soon after the incident, Singh, who has a stone-crusher plant at Hata near Jamshedpur had lodged an FIR against the five accused with the Telco police station.

Vanan said a day after he had set up a team headed by additional SP (City) Kumar Gaurab for solving the case.  “The case is related to business rivalry. One of the accused, Sudhir Dubey, who is still absconding, has also a stone-crusher plant beside the plant of Sukhvinder Singh at Hata.  In April last year, Dubey attacked on his rival at Sitaramdera police station  area and is still absconding.  As a result of dispute, the residents of the village in Hata had blocked the road through which Dubey’s truck would carry stone-chips from his crusher plant. But as the crusher-plant of Sukhvinder Singh is still operating, the five armed men wanted Singh to allow Dubey to use the road for carrying the stone-chips.  The five accused, who were Dubey’s men, had, therefore, threatened Sukhvinder by training guns at the latter as he was not ready to oblige,” said Vanan..

According to the senior SP, the police have also seized the SUV (JH05CN-0374) that the five criminals had come to the office of Sukhvinder Singh on Thursday night.
