Jamshedpur, December 13: South Eastern Railway’s ZRUCC member Arun Joshi and Eastern Railway’s zonal member Rakesh Mishra jointly visited Tatanagar railway station on Tuesday and took stock of the passenger facilities and cleanliness arrangements.
Information about the prices of goods was also obtained by visiting the food stalls and counters at the station. During inspection, it was seen that the escalator was ready on platform number one. Officials were questioned about the reasons for it not starting near the parcel office. During the conversation with the passengers, it was revealed that due to the dilapidated condition of the road in front of the entrance gate of Burmamines, the passengers face difficulty due to water logging during the rainy season.
A warning was given to take action against selling wrong products in the convenience stalls of platform numbers 4 and 5.
While fines were imposed for selling expired food, many people did not even have food safety certificates and stall operators did not have any kind of ID card. Apart from this, a compensation of Rs 10,000 was also imposed on the stall operator for selling expired food.
During the inspection of the station, the ZRUCC members informed the concerned officials of the Railways about the deficiencies observed during the inspection of the station, on which they were asked to take immediate action.
During the inspection of the station, along with ZRUCC members, Station Master Raghuvansh Kumar, RPF Inspector Incharge SK Tiwari, Chief Health Inspector Jitendra Rai and Shashi Kumar from Commercial were also present.
Old railway institute building near Tatanagar station will be demolished
Jamshedpur, December 13: A delegation of South Eastern Railway Men’s Congress met Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) AJ Rathore.
The Divisional Railway Manager informed the delegation about the work to be done by the Railways in the coming days.
The delegation were informed that building of Tatanagar Railway Institute has become dilapidated. It will be demolished and a new community building will be built. This has been approved by the Railway Board.
The community hall to be built behind the running room of Tatanagar will be of a spacious size. The old pond of Tatanagar station will be renovated.
