Jamshedpur : XLRI Jamshedpur, JEM Foundation and Rotary Club of Jamshedpur conducted a one-day workshop in XLRI campus.
Ruchi Narendran, managing trustee JEM Foundation delivered the key note address. In her address, she stressed the Role of education in today’s context. She also expressed hope that initiative taken today will result in taking the education agenda forward in our state where literacy percentage is below national average.
Fr.Abraham, S.J. delivered welcome address and expressed his appreciation on the initiative taken by the three bodies together.
PramodSinha, State Programme Coordinator, spoke with detailed data regarding literacy scenario in the State. More than 120 principals of Govt. and private schools and NGOs participated in the workshop. During the course of the day’s proceedings, the participants were divided into eight working groups.
They deliberated on important issues like Synergizing the collaboration between stake holders, Innovative ideas to overcome the acute shortage of teachers, Managing of Para Teachers, Innovative ideas for affordable quality education, Effective use of Digital Platform for wider reach, Role of Government: Policy and Regulation issues and Attracting and retaining poor Children in both private and public school, Role of NGOs.
The workshop conducted with working groups, presenting their observations on the topics given to them.
Apart from Ruchi Narendran, Fr.Abraham S.J, director of XLRI, Ashok Sharma DEO, Abhay Shankar, D.S.E.,Prof.Sharad Sarin (Convener), Mrs & Chandra Shekhar, Chairperson D.B.M.S Board of Trustees, Dr. Singhal, President, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur, Bailey Bodhanwala, Pramod Sinha, State programme Coordinator from the HRD ministry. B.Neelankanthan D.B.M.S Board of trustees, Pramod Dubey, Director, Prerna classes,were present in the workshop.
