Jhargram, July 11: The Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Jhargram Nanibala HS Vidyalay will be celebrated between July 22 and 24. The School Headmaster, Muktipada Bishui informed that the School was established on July 24, 1946. The inaugural ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee year was held in 2021 but due to the prevailing COVID-19 conditions then could not be observed on a large scale. “However, the closing ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee slated between July 22 and 24, will be celebrated in a befitting manner with an array of cultural programmes,” stated Headmaster, Muktipada Bishui.
Former and current students, teachers, parents as well as dignitaries of Jhargram will participate in the three day closing ceremony of the School’s Platinum Jubilee year. The Headmaster further informed that the three day celebrations would commence with a Prabhat Pheri (early morning procession) on July 22. The Platinum Jubilee concluding celebrations will be inaugurated by West Bengal Forest minister and Jhargram MLA Birbaha Hansda. District Officer Sunil Agarwal will also be present along with other dignitaries who have been involved with the propagation of education at all levels. They will be welcomed and honoured prior to the commencement of gala cultural programmes lined up for the occasion. Nanibala School students will put up several programmes including solo and group presentations in the cultural programmes. An additional highlight of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations will be the release of the School Magazine, ‘Nabo Pallab’ on July 23 at 10 am by Sahitya Samman Awardee, Santali author Khairwal Soren jointly with Ananda Awardee author, Nolini Bera. The launch of the School magazine will be followed by discussions on the current status of education by experts and authorities in the field.
The cultural bonanza will include traditional Jhumur and Santali song-dance presentations that would enhance the tribal cultural aroma of the soil. Both, Jhumur and Santali song-dance programmes will be presented by the School students along with local artistes. On the concluding day of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations will be marked by a friendly football match organized by the School’s Alumni Association. The same evening, the members of the Alumni Association will be felicitated and to add a punch to the concluding day of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, an engrossing programme, ‘Widows of the Past’ will be presented. Popular participants of the famous, ‘Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa’ programme that ranks high on TV viewers’ list, will render songs to make the Platinum Jubilee celebrations memorable.
