Ex-Servicemen Maha Sammelan concludes with grandeur in Ranchi

Ranchi: The two-day Maha Sammelan organized by the All India Ex-Servicemen Service Council (ABPSSP), Jharkhand, concluded successfully in Ranchi on January 12. The event, aimed at promoting the welfare, economic empowerment, and unity of ex-servicemen, saw participation from ex-servicemen, women power groups, and dignitaries from across the state.

Santosh Gangwar, Governor of Jharkhand, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Minister of State for Defense Shri Sanjay Seth and distinguished military officials, including Major General Paramvir Singh, Lieutenant General Vishnu Kant Chaturvedi, and Air Vice Marshal H.P. Singh, attended as special guests.

The inauguration on January 11 began with lamp lighting and floral tributes, followed by a stirring rendition of “Vande Mataram” and a welcome song by the Matrishakti group. Lieutenant General Chaturvedi emphasized, “This platform unites us to work for the welfare of those who have served the nation selflessly.”

The Sammelan honored gallantry award winners and contributors to the organization, including Mrs. Nilima Kumar, wife of Brigadier Ravi Kumar, Vir Chakra, and Honorary Captain Mago Bading, Sena Medal. “These inspiring stories are the heart of our organization,” said Colonel A.R. Sinha, State President.

Key sessions focused on economic empowerment through cooperative institutions in dairy, fisheries, and poultry, as well as financial management and cyber security. Captain Kumar Anees and Lieutenant Colonel Chandni Chako highlighted healthy lifestyle practices for those over 60.

The second day commenced with a floral tribute to martyred soldiers and the presentation of the organization’s theme song, showcasing unity and purpose. Governor Gangwar assured the development of Jari village, honouring Lance Naik Albert Ekka, Param Vir Chakra awardee, while Shri Sanjay Seth pledged to expedite its completion. Discussions also included reserving jobs for ex-servicemen in government and public sectors.

A documentary on ABPSSP’s achievements, along with cultural performances of patriotic songs and dances, added vibrancy to the conference. Recognizing significant contributors, Colonel Sinha stated, “This success reflects the collective efforts of all involved.”

The event, attended by over 800 ex-servicemen and Matrishakti members, concluded with a vote of thanks by Colonel Sinha, who lauded the contributions of District Council Ranchi and other individuals, ensuring the Sammelan’s success.
