Eve teasers beaten up by public at Jubilee Park

Police intervention prevents major disturbance

Jamshedpur, Aug 12: A major incident was averted today at Jubilee Park when people caught some youth of a particular community who were teasing girls. At first people objected to their mischief but they in turn picked up a quarrel with the protestors. The public and passersby were infuriated by the behaviour of the eve teasers and in turn caught and thrashed them. The police was informed. Bistupur police arrived at the spot and picked up the youth and took them away to the police station. Some of the people in the crowd stated that if the police had not reached the spot in Jubilee Park in the nick of time the incident could have taken a communal turn.
