Jamshedpur, July 2 : Tata Steel today observed opening ceremony of the Ethics Month. The day marked the beginning of a month-long celebration to commemorate the values of Pioneering, Integrity, Unity, Excellence, and Responsibility. The Theme for the Ethics Month, this year is �Brand � Where Ethics Makes A Difference�.
The event commenced with flag hoisting at Works General Office (WGO) by Anand Sen, President, TQM & Steel Business, Tata Steel and R Rabi Prasad, President, Tata Workers� Union (TWU). All employees present on the occasion took the Ethics Pledge and rededicated themselves to abide by and preserve the highest standards of ethical behavior in all aspects of life.
The Chief Guest, Anand Sen emphasised that Ethical way of conducting business is well ingrained at Tata Steel in each and every employee. Speaking about the most tangible aspect of a corporate brand being its products and services offered, he mentioned that even here each and every transaction needs to not only be ethical but also perceived ethical and at Tata Steel it is a matter of pride that there is tremendous respect from various quarters owing to the same. He also urged every employee and associate of Tata Steel to be a brand ambassador for ethics at their respective workplace and actively communicate the same to their stakeholders.
The Guest of Honour, R Rabi Prasad, President of TWU recognised that the Tata Group completes its 150 years with its values ingrained in employees and trust from all its stakeholders. He gave his best wishes for the upcoming event during this month and requested all for maximum participation.
The Corporate Ethics department at Tata Steel has lined up a month-long series of events such as Online Quiz, Ethics Film Festival, �Ab Kya Karen � Solve the dilemma� and other town hall events for the month of July 2018. These events will not only encourage participation of the employees and the community at large, but also help reinforce Tata values and ethics amongst stakeholders.
