Ethics Month celebrations commence at Tata Steel

Jamshedpur, July 3: Tata Steel today organized the opening ceremony of Ethics Month. The day marked the beginning of a month-long celebration to commemorate the values of Pioneering, Integrity, Unity, Excellence, and Responsibility.

The Theme for the Ethics Month, this year is �Respectful Workplace�.

The event commenced with flag hosting by Anand Sen, President TQM & Steel Business, Tata Steel and Satish Kumar Singh, Vice President, Tata Workers� Union. All employees present on the occasion took the Ethics Pledge and rededicated themselves to abide by and preserve the highest standards of ethical behavior in all aspects of life.

After hoisting the Ethics flag at Works General office, the chief guest Anand Sen emphasized on Ethics and Tata Code of Conduct which are the guiding principle for conducting business at Tata Steel and urged all the employees present to be a brand ambassador of ethics at their respective workplace and spread the message of Ethical Workplace.

The guest of honour, Satish Kumar Singh, vice president of TWU, in his speech lauded the respectful workplace that is Tata Steel and said that it was due to such commitment to ethics and more that Tata Steel has been recognised as the World�s Most Ethical Company for the fifth time. He also appreciated platforms such as JDC and MD Online which allows even the junior most employee to voice opinions and concerns openly without any fear and this he said was further proof of Tata Steel being a respectful workplace for all.

The Corporate Ethics department at Tata Steel has lined up a month long series of events such as Online Quiz, Short Stories from workplace, Skit competition, Visual creation (Posters/Snapshots/Cartoons) and other town hall events for the month of July 2017. These events will not only encourage participation of the employees and the community at large, but also help reinforce Tata values and ethics amongst stakeholders.
