Jamshedpur: The NSS department of RVS College of Engineering and Technology organized a significant environmental awareness program at a local +2 school. The event was led by Dr. Dilip Kumar Haldhar, with participation from approximately 60 college students. The school’s principal, Ajay Kumar, and the assistant teachers actively supported the program.
During the event, discussions focused on measures to prevent dengue-related diseases, particularly highlighting the increased prevalence of dengue mosquitoes during the rainy season. Participants emphasized the importance of keeping the surrounding areas clean to mitigate the risk of dengue. The program also underscored the critical importance of water harvesting during the rainy season, given water’s essential role in life.
NSS coordinators Dr. Rahi Das Kunal Sarkar and Mani Shesh were actively involved in the event. Shatrughan Singh, the institution’s treasurer, appreciated the initiative, describing it as part of the college’s responsibility. The NSS team planted approximately 70 saplings within the school premises and nearby vacant areas.
Professor Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, the college principal, sent off the team for this initiative and expressed his happiness over their success.
