Jamshedpur, Aug 26: The deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar today directed the block education officers (BEOs) of Jamshedpur and Potka to ensure Aadhar registration of all school children in their respective areas.
He also asked them to get the bank accounts opened in the names of these students besides linking the same with Aadhar.
He issued the instructions at a meeting of education department convened by him at the DC office auditorium. He reviewed various schemes including Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Midday meal scheme.
Kumar asked the BEOs of Jamshedpur and Potka to ensure Aadhar-linking of bank accounts of all children. He also asked them to tag the schools and help them get the Aadhar enrollment and linking work done soon.
He directed bank authorities to open bank accounts of all children as soon as possible.
The DC asked all BEOs to complete the purchase of benches and desks and supply the same to schools as per requirement by 20th September.
He further asked the BEOs of Dumaria, Chakulia, Bodam, Patamada and Dhalbhumgarh to ensure zero dropout rate by 15th September.
Kumar said the Governor of Jharkhand Draupadi Murmu was coming to East Singhbhum on 29th September. The governor is expected to visit Minority Odiya Middle School, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and Sidhu Kanhu Vidyalaya.
Also present on the occasion, the district superintendent of education (DSE) directed the authorities concerned to submit a list of government schools having dilapidated buildings.
He said a fund of Rs 2.5 crore had been received for providing power supply, light and fans in the schools of East Singhbhm. The fund would be sent to the schools shortly, he said.
The meeting was also attended by the district education officer (DEO) and other officials of the education department.
