Aniket Sachan orders 15-day Filaria survey for eradication

Review Meeting of Health & Welfare department held 

Jamshedpur: A review meeting of the Health and Social Welfare Department was held at the Collectorate Auditorium, Jamshedpur, following the directives of District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Aniket Sachan, focused on key health initiatives and the overall performance of various welfare programs in the district.

The review covered hospital operation fund utilization, the Anemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, malnutrition treatment centers, maternal health services, institutional deliveries, vaccination programs, progress in the Filaria eradication campaign, and leprosy treatment efforts. Officials were instructed to strengthen the district’s healthcare system and ensure timely and effective service delivery.

The Deputy Development Commissioner directed the Civil Surgeon to conduct a sample survey of the Filaria eradication campaign within the next 15 days and submit a report. A detailed discussion on vaccination progress was held, with an emphasis on ensuring that every newborn in the district receives complete immunization. Special attention was given to increasing awareness among pregnant and lactating mothers in rural areas about the importance of vaccination.

During the meeting, the maternal health facilities in all community health centers, including Sadar Hospital, were assessed. The DDC stressed the need for identifying high-risk pregnancies early through thorough prenatal checkups. Health officials were instructed to ensure adequate availability of doctors and medical staff for 24×7 emergency services, deliveries, and maternal care across all health centers.

A major point of discussion was the effective implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, ensuring that every eligible patient receives the benefits. The DDC directed officials to make better use of malnutrition treatment centers, ensuring timely treatment for severely malnourished children. Additionally, identification and treatment of leprosy patients were prioritized to control its spread in the district.

The meeting also explored strategies for further strengthening the district’s health infrastructure, ensuring improved healthcare services for all residents. Officials discussed ways to optimize resources and enhance medical service delivery.

The review meeting was attended by Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal, ACMO Dr. Jogeshwar Prasad, DRCHO Dr. Ranjit Panda, District TB Officer Dr. OP Keshari, District Social Welfare Officer, all CDPOs, all MOICs, WHO representatives, and other key health department officials and workers.

With an aim to enhance public health services and eradicate major diseases, the district administration reaffirmed its commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare to every citizen.
