Jamshedpur, April 1: Acting upon the directives of the Jharkhand High Court, authorities cleared encroachments on government land in Gunomoy Colony, Mango, on Monday. Assistant Municipal Commissioner of Mango Municipal Corporation, Sameer Bodra, and Municipal Manager, Jitendra Kumar, were appointed as magistrates for overseeing the operation.
The enforcement team, pressed into service a JCB to execute the HC orders. As an instance, the anti-encroachment operation commenced with the residential premises of Shyam Sundar Agarwal with the land being measured and the encroached portion being demolished.
This legal battle, which had been going on for several years, culminated in the High Court ruling in favor of the government, mandating the swift removal of encroachments. Consequently, the authorities took prompt action to restore the government’s land to its rightful state.
