Baharagoada, June 22: In a bid to widen the road in Bansada village adjacent to the national highway under Baharagoda block, the administration carried out the removal of encroachments on Thursday. As a consequence, bulldozers ran through several houses. The construction work of the road from Pathra to Bansda Chowk has neared completion; however, encroachments along the road in Bansda village hindered the widening process. The administration had previously issued notices to the encroachers, instructing them to vacate the occupied land. Unfortunately, no action was taken to comply with the directive. Therefore, on Thursday, the administration resorted to demolishing the houses constructed on the encroached land, utilizing bulldozers for the purpose. The event witnessed the presence of Bahragora Station House Officer Sannat Tiwari, Zonal Officer Jitray Murmu, Block Development Officer Rajesh Sahu, officials from the Land Acquisition Department, employees, and police personnel.
