Employment boost to Jamshedpur youths by Tata Steel’ TSDPL  

Jamshedpur, Nov 21:  Over 80 per cent of finally selected candidates being recruited for the Jamshedpur Plants of Tata Steel Downstream Products Ltd. (TSDPL), a 100 percent subsidiary of Tata Steel, are local residents of Jharkhand which is a testament to company’s focus to provide employment to the youth of its operating locations, said a press release issued by the company. 

It stated that the move is also as per the Government of Jharkhand employment rules of local candidates even in private sector which mandates a minimum bracket of 75 per cent of certain jobs to be given to the deserving local candidates. 

It further said, the company has carried out a transparent & fair selection process comprising written exams followed by interviews. The company is committed to providing more such employment opportunities to the youths of the state and contribute positively to Jharkhand’s economy as it pursues its ambitious growth plans in near future.

TSDPL was originally set up in 1997 as Tata Ryerson Ltd, a joint venture between Tata Steel and Ryerson Inc. of USA. In 2009, Tata Steel acquired the entire equity and thus was born TSDPL. In 2022, company observed Silver Jubilee year.
