Jamshedpur, November 21: Thieves stole cash of Rs 1.5 lakh and jewelery worth lakhs from the house of Rama Sinha, at Chhota Govindpur Sai Mandir under Govindpur police station and worked as a livestock assistant in the animal husbandry department.
The thieves entered inside by cutting the grill of the roof and easily escaped after committing the crime. When the family members woke up on Tuesday morning, they informed the police. After this the police reached the spot and are investigating and taking further action.
Rama Sinha told that he has three sons. Two sons Abhishek Kumar, Aman Akash live with them, while one son Amit Kumar lives in Agrico. Everyone was awake till 1 o’clock on Monday night, after which everyone slept. The next day, Tuesday, between 6 and 6.30 am, everyone woke up to find all the stuff in the house scattered and the cupboards broken. Usually all the family members wake up every day between 4 and 5 in the morning, but on Tuesday everyone woke up very late.
All the members had headache, hence it is being speculated that the thieves had used sedative spray before committing the theft. Wedding jewelery which was worth around Rs 10 to 15 lakhs and Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh cash kept after selling land in the village had been stolen.
The thieves entered the house by cutting the grill on the roof of the house. An iron rod was used to break the grill. The thieves first broke the lock of the room in the ceiling and searched the containers kept in it. After not finding anything in it, they went to the room below and broke the locks of two almirahs kept in the room and stole jewelery and cash.
