Employee dies after falling from crane at Tata Steel Jamshedpur plant

Jamshedpur, July 6: An employee of Tata Steel’s Cold Rolling Mill (CRM) died after falling from a crane inside the plant. The deceased, Naresh Prasad (32), a resident of the Kadma, was a permanent employee in the CRM Department.

Naresh Prasad, who worked as a crane operator, was climbing the crane when he suddenly fell. He was severely injured in the fall. Upon receiving information about the incident, the Security Department team rushed Naresh Prasad to TMH. After examination, doctors declared him dead.

The family of Naresh Prasad has been informed about the incident, and a high-level investigation has been initiated. Tata Steel has expressed deep regret over the tragic incident, which occurred at approximately 4:00 AM on Saturday.

“Naresh Prasad (age 32 years) one of our crane operators and a valued employee, fell from the crane and tragically died. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Naresh’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. We are extending all possible support to his family and are working closely with relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate the incident,” stated a Tata Steel spokesperson. “The safety and well-being of our employees are of paramount importance to us, and we are committed to ensuring a safe working environment.”
