Jamshedpur : Rajni’s birthday was celebrated at Malukocha located in Dalma Wildlife Century in Chandil forest area. Rajni is a female elephant, who was found in an injured state at Dalma Century 10 years ago after being separated from the herd. Since then till today, the Forest Department considers Rajni’s birthday on 7th October every year with great pomp. Wherever today, forest department officials near Malukocha Checknaka along with the nearby rural children cut a 10-pound cake and shared happiness with Rajni.
On this occasion, Dalma Western Range Ranger Dinesh Chandra told that it is a pleasure. This gives a good message to the people that when we can celebrate the birthday of our children then why not the wild animals. He said that through such events there is an opportunity to make people aware of wild animals.
Regarding Rajni’s birthday, the forest department wants to give the message that animals are also important for the earth and they also have their own importance. Keeping this message in mind, Rajni’s birthday is celebrated.
Efforts are made to learn from this and take a pledge for the safety and security of animals. Although every year school children were called on the occasion of Rajni’s birthday, this year it was not possible due to the Corona epidemic.
