Elephant kills one, injures another near Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, April 22: Two villagers were targeted by an elephant in Gobarghusi forest of Patmada police station area. One died in this incident while one was seriously injured.

The deceased is Vibhuti Sahis, a resident of Gobarghusi village, while his partner Shatrughan Singh (60) is seriously injured. Apart from this, a woman Dunu Singh saved her life by running away from the spot. The incident is of Friday afternoon. Although the villagers came to know about this on Saturday morning. On getting the information, its information was given to Patmada police station in-charge Ranjit Kumar and the local forester.

Regarding the matter, Belu Singh, the village head of Gobarghusi, told that on Friday around 10 am, Gobarghusi residents Vibhuti Sahis and Shatrughan Singh had gone to the forest to bring firewood. There, at around 2.30 pm, while returning with wood, they encountered a elephant.

 Both the persons were trying to run away leaving the wooden load. That’s why the elephant took Vibhuti Sahis in its grip and killed him by thrashing him with its trunk while Shatrughan Singh was badly injured. On the other hand, Dunu Singh, another woman from Gobarghusi managed to save her life after seeing the elephant in front of her and returned home by evening. On getting information about this from the villagers, dozens of people entered the forest in the evening. At 5.30 am on Saturday morning, dozens of people again went towards the forest found the dead body of Vibhuti Sahis.
