Electric cables set on fire at Bagbera

Jamshedpur, Apr 2: Unidentified miscreants put on fire plastic cables of the JBVNL near Hari Bagan Area under Bagbera thana on the road leading Harharguttu creating panic among residents in the densely populated area as it was close to the Bagbera Colony government school. 
The Bagbera police informed the government fire brigade unit which rushed in fire tenders at around 1.30 pm and managed to douse the flames but could not save the pipes which were charred in the fire causing damages of more than lakhs for the electricity department. 
According to police locals alleged that the pipe has been kept in a disputed area and there is a possibility that miscreants might have deliberately put it on fire.
According to JBVNL executive engneer Jamshedpur division, P K Vishwakarma the pipes were kept for underground cabling work in the Bagbera area and almost half of the underground cabling work has been completed. A case has been lodged against unidentified persons at the Bagbera thana. They are trying to ascertain the amount of losses incurred in the fire.
