Jamshedpur, March 22. Dhatkidih pond under Bistupur police station has become a suicide point these days.
On February 20, Suresh Mukhi of Harijan Basti and on March 9, a woman from Kapali committed suicide by jumping into the pond.
On Friday, a dead body was found in the pond. Local people informed the police about finding the dead body.
After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and the body was taken out with the help of local divers.
The deceased was identified as 62-year-old Garib Lal, resident of Dhatkidih Harijan Basti. The police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.
The deceased’s son Somdev said that his father was missing since Wednesday afternoon. The family started searching for him but he was not found. Today they were about to go towards Musabani to search for their father when the police informed about the discovery of the dead body. Somdev told that there was some family dispute last week regarding his wife and father. Due to this, the father was feeling embarrassed for some days. Probably for this reason he committed suicide.
