Jamshedpur, Dec 23: The Eighth International Hindi Mahotsav-2024 concluded at Srinath University, Adityapur, after a three-day celebration of Hindi language and culture. The festival featured various competitions, sessions, and insightful discussions. The grand finale included a Chintan Manan (Intellectual Discussion) session with distinguished speakers who included Justice Anand Sen from the Jharkhand High Court, Advocate Seema Samriddhi Kushwaha (the Supreme Court lawyer who fought the Nirbhaya case), and Rajesh Shukla, Vice-President of the Jharkhand Bar Council. The session was coordinated by Srinath University’s Senior Advisor Kaushik Mishra and Dinesh Ranjan, Deputy Director of JIADA.

Justice Anand Sen addressed the importance of Hindi in judicial processes. He explained that although most legal work in the Supreme Court was conducted in English, the slow shift towards Hindi in judicial proceedings was gaining momentum, with the Jharkhand High Court already providing judgments in 100% Hindi. He emphasized that legal education in Hindi was necessary to bridge gaps in the legal understanding of those who faced language barriers.

Advocate Seema Kushwaha, who played a pivotal role in the Nirbhaya case, shared her inspiring journey of fighting for justice over eight years. She urged the importance of gender equality and the need to eliminate the social barriers that prevented girls from pursuing education and careers like their male counterparts. She emphasized that true justice for Nirbhaya would only be realized when every woman feels safe in society.

Rajesh Shukla spoke about the awareness around Hindi, especially in tribal areas, and the role of language in fostering a connection with the masses.
