Eight youths arrested from Jamshedpur, arms and liquor seized

Jamshedpur, Sep 19: Sidhgora police arrested eight youths and seized arms and liquor from their possession on Sunday. Those arrested were allegedly planning to carry out some major criminal activity, they said.

Those arrested were identified as Santosh Mukhi, Amit Singh, Mangal Nath Choubey, Abhishek Nath Choubey, Gurvinder Singh, Raza Alam, Shivam Nag and Gaurav Singh alias Golu.

DSP Virendra Kumar said the police had got a tip-off about the accused persons being gathered at a house in Dus Number Basti on Sunday evening and allegedly planning some major crime. A police team soon raided the house and arrested those present. The accused persons were drinking and smoking. During frisking, cops found a gun from the possession of one Gurvinder Singh. A bike was also recovered from the scene.
