Eight kilometer road project approved in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 6: The plan for the construction of an additional 8 kilometers of road in the Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency received the nod at the initiative of legislator, Saryu Roy. The tender for this project will be floated soon, and the construction work would be completed in two phases. The total cost of this project has been estimated at Rs. 8,88,05,000/- (Eight crore eighty-eight lakh five thousand rupees). Funded by the Road Construction Department the cost will cover the maintenance and construction of main roads, including Tata Timken Main Road to Babudih Basti, Bhuinyadih Park to Main Road (Kali Temple), Nirmal Nagar Road, Cross Road, Babudih Main Road to Jharna Ghat Road and Birsanagar Thana Main Road to Ganesh Sweets Sidho Kanhu Main Road via Link Road, Ganesh Sweets to Birsanagar, Zone No. 8 Hari Temple, Sarna Puja Sthal, and Link Road Kali Temple to Zone No. 6, including the repair and construction of other roads. It may be mentioned that just a week ago, approvals were granted for the construction of several roads spanning more than 12 kilometers in the Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency, with a budget exceeding Rs seven crore. Thus, approximately Rs 16 crore from the Road Construction Department will be utilized for the construction of roads exceeding 20 kilometers in the Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency. MLA Saryu Roy has instructed the Executive Engineer of the Road Construction Department to expedite the tendering process so that the construction of these roads can commence before the announcement of the Lok Sabha elections, and the allocated funds from the state government could be utilized by March 31, 2024.
