Eight arrested for killing wild elephant

Jamshedpur, Jan. 19 : West Singhbhum police have arrested eight persons for their involvement in killing a wild elephant at Chaibasa jungle under Majhgaonthana area in the district in December last. SP, West Singhbhum district, Anish Gupta said they have recovered Rs 20 lakh, one rifle and cellphones from those arrested. The caracass of the elephant was recovered from the jungle on December 23. According to Gupta, some of the poachers from Arunachal Pradesh were also involved in the killing of the tusker but they were absconding.
