Jamshedpur: A seminar on the empowerment of Adivasi community was held at Narwa UCIL Colony, Jadugora, on Monday. A large number of Adivasi men and women participated in the programme.
The chief guest of the occasion was Baiju Murmu, a local tribal leader. In his address, he said the Adivasis are not poor as they have a rich culture. There is a need to remove all feelings of backwardness and inferiority from the minds of the tribal people, he said.
Murmu said only education could empower the Adivasis in the true sense of the term. By becoming educated, the Adivasis can take right steps to improve the quality of life.
Among those present during the programme included Rani Mardi, Haripado Murmu, Sushil Hansda, Pradhan Hansda, Preeti Murmu and Ganesh Murmu.
