Eco-friendly activities mark Mother’s Day at DAV Bistupur

Jamshedpur, May 9: DAV Public School, Bistupur organised a colourful Mother’s Day celebration for students of Classes I and II on Friday. The programme was based on the theme “Nature — Our First Mother” and aimed to teach children the importance of caring for nature just as mothers care for their children every day.

Around 80 mothers participated in the event along with their children. The celebration became even more special as it coincided with the 165th birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Floral tributes were paid to Gurudev, while students presented Rabindra Sangeet and dance performances.

Several fun-filled and creative competitions were organised, including collage making, newspaper dressing, reel making on love for nature, cooking without fire, nature-themed painting, and jewellery making using eco-friendly materials. Mothers and children enthusiastically participated in all activities, showcasing creativity, teamwork and bonding.

Addressing the gathering, the Principal of DAV Public School, Bistupur and ARO of Jharkhand Zone-E urged mothers to spend more quality time with their children and reduce time spent on social media. She said children consider their mothers as role models and future responsible citizens are shaped at home.
