Jamshedpur: Election Commission of India has allotted the symbol bicycle to the candidates of Samajwadi Party contesting the Parliamentary elections in Giridih, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Singhbhum, Khunti and Hazaribagh.
The additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of East Singhbhum Ganesh Kumar said the symbol was allotted as per the decision taken by the Commission to grant concession sought by the Samajwadi Party under paragraph 10 of the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968.
Earlier, the district administration had allotted the symbol of auto rickshaw to the Samajwadi Party candidate from Jamshedpur DG Raja.
The Samajwadi Party leaders had requested the Election Commission for concession after its candidates failed to get the party symbol during allotment of symbols to all candidates in the various constituencies.
