East Singhbum gets Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres

Villagers express happiness over the initiative

Jamshedpur , Sept. 23: The East Singhbhum on Sunday got two Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centre one at Lupungdih, located 15 KM near Jamshedpur. The another in the East Singhbhum district was Kesharpur in Ghatshila sub division. It was one of the 10 upgraded health centres that were inaugurated online by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Ranchi.

A live telecast with a large LED screen was arranged by the East Singhbhum district administration. Deputy commissioner Amit Kumar; deputy development commissioner B. Maheshwari and other government officials attended the programme at Lupungdih. Kumar inaugurated the centre that will have facilities like a labour room, a pharmacy, a double bed ward, OPD, a recovery ward and a post delivery ward.

Though it was said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would interact with the representatives of wellness centres through video conferencing, it did not take place.

Villagers expressed their happiness over the setting up of wellness centres. It will pave way for better healthcare.

The villagers said that they are keen to get themselves registered under the scheme. As per the plans the scheme however will have letters sent signed by the Prime Minister to all the people across the country who are registered under the National Food Security Act.

The letters can be then taken to the nearest empanelled hospital where they can undergo a verification process submitting their ID and address proof and thumb impression. After the verification they will
receive a golden card which can be used to avail services that includes tests, diagnosis and other treatment.

In East Singhbhum, Medica, Steel City Nursing Home in Bistupur and Gurunanak Nursing Home in Mango are some of the already empanelled hospitals. Tata Main Hospital; Tata Motors Hospital and some other corporate hospitals are yet to come under the ambit. “It is our ambitious project and we are confident in success.

The district administration has approached all of them but they have their own rules to follow. But we believe very soon they will be empanelled,” said East Singhbhum district civil surgeon, Maheshwar Prasad.
